Hey, how are you? And welcome to Empire Copper. We are Cam and Beth of Empire Copper. We specialise in unique, handcrafted copper art, homewares, gifts and décor. Each item is handmade in Perth, Western Australia then packaged up and shipped worldwide. Don't worry, you're not the only new one around here. This time last year we never imagined we'd be running our own website, let alone writing a blog for it.

Firstly, about the maker. The brains. The brawn and yeah, I guess, some of the beauty - Cam.

Cam started practicing copper patination in 2019, experimenting outside the realm of his regular day job - working in architectural roofing. Having worked with copper for several years already, he knew how to work the metal so he put all his focus into creating stunning patinas. Cam began making amazing pieces that had wonderful colours and textures. Upon sharing his creations with our family and friends, his hobby shifted to a dream and that dream became a reality with the birth of Empire Copper. His first ever piece was a stunning, texturized patina filled with deep blues and vibrant copper tones set in a black serving tray. This piece was incredibly popular, so much so that we were contacted to have it displayed in a design studio.

After the tray, came the roman numeral, copper clock. We could never have anticipated how popular they were about to become. With this clock style, we made our first ever online sale and even went on to make our first international sale - to Las Vegas! [Insert dorky, happy dance]

With very little time, but a lot of people skills, in November 2019 we dove right in and participated in a pop-up market in our local shopping centre/mall. We sold a few pieces that day (enough to cover the costs) and learnt a few things, specifically about finding our people, our audience, our community.

Hopefully, you.

In the past 18 months Empire Copper has grown far beyond what we could have imagined and Cam has created and crafted so many stunning pieces. We are both so excited for what this year holds not only in business but also in our personal lives. If you've made it this far, THANK YOU. We'd love to invite you to become part of our community and check back weekly and follow our journey, as we navigate life.

Bye for now,

Beth & Cam
